Literature-based Digital Paintings

Digital paintings that were based on literature and focused on the common theme of "Longing for Home".
The first is Alice from Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll. Here, Alice is trying to get back "home" and is grasping at a past that is nowhere near as beautiful or good as the reality she is in.
The second features Arwen and Aragorn from the Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien as they watch the elves sail to the "West" and their homeland. Arwen, although she longs to go there, chooses Aragorn and stays behind.
The third is Orual from Till We Have Faces by C. S. Lewis. Orual recounts that, “The sweetest thing in all my life has been the longing — to reach the Mountain, to find the place where all the beauty came from — my country, the place where I ought to have been born." The home she longs for is one she has never seen or known.
