La Via dei Frati, (Appunti di Viaggio, Sicilia 18 — 26 Agosto 2020) è una via di pellegrinaggio lunga 160 km (circa) che va da Caltanissetta a Cefalù attraversando la dorsale montuosa delle Madonie.

AVENDO FATTO ALTRI CAMMINI, HO INIZIATO IL PERCORSO CON GRANDE “ RISPETTO PER LA STRADA”, E AD OGGI CREDO SIA L’UNICO MODO PER AFFRONTARE PERCORSI DEL GENERE ED USCIRNE ARRICCHITI.
RISPETTO PER ME SIGNIFICA COMPRENDERE I PROPRI LIMITI E DARE SIGNIFICATO AD OGNI SINGOLO PASSO. COMPRENDENDO CHE UN PASSO ALLA VOLTA SI ARRIVA ALLA META E CHE CORRERE SPESSO SERVE SOLAMENTE A FUGGIRE DA NOI STESSI.

Questo è stato il mio primo cammino in Sicilia, e probabilmente ne farò altri. Sulla strada ho capito che per me il camminare su questa terra significa renderle omaggio. Un modo lento e silenzioso per dire grazie alla meravigliosa terra dove sono nato!
Queste fotografie non raccontano in maniera didascalica l’intero cammino, ma rappresentano per lo più una mia personale ed emozionale selezione dei tanti scatti realizzati e mi piace pensarli per lo più come “ appunti visivi di viaggio “.

Un grazie di cuore ai miei due compagni di Viaggio, Salvatore Balsamo ineguagliabile guida lungo la via e Mario Romeo per la forza e la tenacia dimostrata nonostante non è riuscito a completare il cammino. Grazie a entrambi per avermi iniziato alle birre con granita al limone di fine cammino, le ho adorate.

LA VIA DEI FRATI, (TRAVEL NOTES, SICILY 18 — 26 AUGUST 2020)
it is a 160 km long pilgrimage route (approximately) that goes from Caltanissetta to Cefalù crossing the mountain ridge of the Madonie. Having done other paths, I started the journey with great “respect for the road”, and today I think it is the only way to tackle such paths and come out enriched.
Respect for me means understanding your limits and giving meaning to every single step. Realizing that one step at a time we arrive at the goal and that running often only serves to escape from ourselves. This was my first walk in Sicily, and I will probably do others. On the way I realized that for me walking on this earth means paying homage to it. A slow and silent way to say thank you to the wonderful land where I was born!
The photographs above do not tell the whole journey in a didactic way, but mostly represent my personal and emotional selection of the many shots taken and I like to think of them mostly as “visual travel notes”.
A heartfelt thanks to my two travel companions, Salvatore Balsamo, unparalleled guide along the way and Mario Romeo for the strength and tenacity shown despite not being able to complete the journey. Thanks to both of you for introducing me to end-of-the-road lemon granita whit beers, i loved them.
