What is research?
This project developed my understanding of the significance of research in the design process. Research helps designers to understand how to meet the needs of the client/ brief and create the foundation of design ideas. It allowed me to explore what path of graphic design I’d be interested in and the professional industry around it. After researching branding and editorial design, I ultimately chose digital design as I thought it is broad and flexible to experiment with. The broadsheet was a unique form of recording the project instead of using a sketchbook, the process was the final outcome. The brief was adaptable to be able to create something distinctive and of my interests, allowing me to include some illustration to add the personal touch.
