IN FIELDS ALONE

Hidden in a little, perfectly fitting, by the best tailor made-to-measure wood, the old farmhouse keeps memories. Surrounded by whispering poplar trees, the unceasing see wind from the nearby coast bends the trees until their branches reach the ears of neighbouring corn, which spread the secrets further and further away into the open landscape. Sometimes, birds pick the ripened corn grains and carry them abroad, in foreign countries, where the old farmhouse's stories live forever.

Architecture @unknown | Poperinge, Belgium | 2020
The farmhouse was built in 1919 near Poperinge in Belgium, where the battlefront of WW1 was basically crossing its grounds. That might also be the reason why its fundaments started sinking at the first place, trying to break the walls into two parts.
In 2020, the fundaments have been strengthened and the farmhouse is undergoing a complete reconstruction. The pictures were taken before the renovation of the facade, showing its full 101 years old beauty.
Thank you for watching :)
