Enhancing an existing home appliance by incorporating modularity.
Flux - A platform for a modular monitor. Utilising a seamless hinge design, the flux monitor allows for up to 4 new modules to be added to the base unit. The user is able to easily switch in and out different attachments to help optimise productivity and customise their work flow. Speakers, lights and portrait screens are just some of the options.
The combination of monitor screens is not uncommon, by adding multiple screens the user can increase productivity and user experience. However these screens are not always necessary for the user and require large amounts of space. My research has shown that additional attachments and monitors are used during specific times of work and as this changes so does their need for screen space.
Integration - When looking at computer set ups you find a large array of other technology used within the vicinity. Why cant these other technology’s be integrated into one simple ecosystem?
Adaptation - Working from home is becoming more popular than ever with over 5.2% of Americans working from home permanently. With consumers trying to find a balance between work and home life there is an opportunity to provide a system that can be adapted to suit both their leisure and work needs for optimisation
Personalisation - Computer set-ups are a very personalised area, users like to create spaces that reflect themselves and provide a personal touch, modularity could provide a way for users to reflect this.
