In June 2013, I began sitting on sidewalks for long periods of time and making gouache paintings of random people's houses for fun. I decided to turn this hobby into a summer job, so I opened up for commissions, promoting myself with business cards, fliers, email marketing, social networking, and a website. In about six weeks, I completed 20 commissions.
The following six paintings were pieces I used as samples:
Out of the next 21 paintings, 20 paintings were commissions; 1 painting was a present for a friend. All are gouache, 7 x 5".
