휠체어의 종류는 전기 휠체어와 수동 휠체어 두 가지가 있습니다. 전기 휠체어는 간편하고 쉬운 주행을 할 수 있지만 워낙 고가이기 때문에 수동 휠체어보다 보급율이 좋지 못합니다. 휠체어의 사용자 중 70%가 수동 휠체어를 사용하고 있는데, 수동 휠체어는 경사길을 가거나 급하게 브레이크를 밟을 때 상당한 근력을 소모하기 때문에 근력이 약한 여성이나 노약자들은 휠체어로 인한 사고를 많이 겪습니다. 또한 휠체어 사용자는 사회적으로 낮고 느린 이미지가 있어 많은 휠체어 사용자들은 자존감 하락과 주변의 시선을 신경쓰는 경향이 있습니다. 첫번째 목표는 위의 수동 휠체어의 불편함을 기능으로써 개선하는 것입니다. 두번째 목표는 휠체어 사용자의 낮고 느린 이미지를 개선하기 위해 기존의 정적인 휠체어의 이미지에서 율동성있고, 역동적인 디자인을 통해 사회적 시선을 개선하는 것입니다.
