My goal here was to design a set of desk organizers with simple, classic and clean shapes. They’re practical but almost decorative as well.
The main inspiration came from forged and cast iron objects. From skillets and kettles to old iron bridges and old industrial equipment from the 19th Century. To create a blend of this style with a more contemporary and modern form.
I wanted to avoid the common choice of plastic as the main material and opt instead for metal. These pieces should last a long time, acquiring patina, scratches and dents over the years.

The ridges on the bottom were inspired by street grates,
gutters and manhole covers that are usually also cast iron.
