MUSEUM MILANO - ADVANCED ANIMATION METHODS
This was the assignment we had to complete during the second week of the Advanced Animation Methods course. During this week, we learned how to create a strong foundation by building a blueprint for our animations. Then, complete the project using eye-trace and other advanced techniques such as geometrical precision including timing the visual and auditory elements with mathematical ratios (i.e. √2/golden ratio).

As for the assignment, we had a choice between 3 different briefs - symmetry, harmony or asymmetrical division. I chose the first one. We were given a single styleframe, the text, a VO track and a music track. It was a 2 part assignment with the first week concentrating on the planning and structure of the animatic, followed by a week polishing a finished animation.

Brief: Museum Milano is holding an exhibition of artist Isabella Conticello’s work and would like to see her art come alive and tell a story that relates to one of her famous quotes. The words for the quote will only be heard through VO which is provided for you and not be shown on screen.

Quote: “Symmetry, is an idea by which humanity has tried to comprehend and create order, beauty, and perfection.”

Design: Isabella Conticello
Animation: Myria Adamou
