En la parte inferior de la cafetera se colocan el agua y el café en dos depósitos separados, el del café contiene además un filtro. La parte superior es una cavidad vacía conectada con el depósito de café inferior.
Al calentar la cafetera el agua entra en ebullición. Esto hace que el agua atraviese el filtro y llegue al café. Dejando únicamente el café sin impurezas.
