Hurricane Laura: Infrastructure Damage

There is a continued power outage in Lake Charles, following the landfall of Hurricane Laura. This makes reconstruction difficult, since over 200 power stations are damaged and many require total replacement. Thousands of telephone poles are snapped like twigs or leaning precariously over the roads, trailing wires. The stoplights do not work either, making each of the many four-way intersections a four-way stop. Temperatures range from the upper 90s to over 100 degrees at midday. The National Guard has deployed and is supplying water, tarps, and MREs for those who need them. We can pull through! Just keep praying!
