Armadillo: Assemble Pets

The unprecedented social circumstances in which kids have continued their development has been a great challenge for parents, educators and the kids themselves. They need constant social interaction and stimulus that can be hard or even impossible to provide in a situation like that.

To support situations like this we created "Armadillo", a paper toys series designed to be assembled at home as a child-parent activity with the intention of distracting and entertaining in a stressful domestic situation such as quarantine and social distancing.

“Arma” is spanish for assemble, and a literal translation for Armadillo would be“little assemble” so we choose that name to mix both concepts of assembly and animals.
We wanted to design something that could be made with things that you usually find in a middle class home. all the animals fit inside a letter size paper sheet ( the most common printing paper size) and they are all drawn in black and white not to rely on color ink. We avoided internal cuts or complex folding so they could be easily cut using scissors, besides, all the animals are self assembled so they don't need any glue, only foldings and fittings.
