Character poster

Here are 3 posters that I had made for my portfolio assignment. I have placed 3D animation as my primary skill and therefore I decided to pose my character which is a witch. This witch model has been refined and rigged for my portfolio assignment. It is rigged with IK handles on both her feet and arms.
For the first poster, I used my witch interior room for the environment. I pose my witch as if she is levitating while casting a spell. I researched lots of poses and ended up choosing this pose for the poster. I also applied nCloth effect to my witch dress to make it more realistic. i also applied a wind effect to make the cloth look more dynamic. I also did light linking for specific items such as the magic staff and the magic circle. Aiatmospheric light effect is used to project the glowing from the books as well as the ray of light coming from the window.
For this poster, I changed the camera angle because I find this angle to be interesting for me especially seeing the sleeve being blown although the pose is not clearly seenable. I also had to change the witch's head position to make it more natural looking. The lighting was remained unchanged from the previous poster.
For this third poster, I decided to go for an exterior environment at night. I placed trees and grass models from Maya itself. I also placed multiple floating leaves to make it look windy. The dress is then converted to nCloth and used wind effect to make it look like it being blown by the same wind direction. At first, the character was supposed to look towards the camera but ended up putting her head down covering her eyes to make it look more mysterious. For the lighting, I focused more on the character. I used 3-point lighting for the character; main light lighting up the front of the witch, a fill light lgihting up her right, and a third blueish secondary light with higher intensity to show as if the moonlight is behind her.
