Dapper James is an infant apparel company based in Kansas City.

I was tasked with doing a complete overhaul of the old identity.

The new identity is focused on being cute and engaging, incorporating a retro feel, and letting the brand stand out next to the local competition.

Custom typography accents the mascot, bringing a unique  feel to the identity.
From the moment I heard the brand name, I was leaning towards a central mascot as the most effective solution.

One client stipulation on the design was the inclusion of a bow tie.

After many iterations, most of which were doodles on napkins at my dayjob, the final mascot began to take shape.
I designed a custom logotype based on the Cubano typeface that leaned towards the vintage feel that was right for the brand.
Scalability is a great way to bring versatility to a brand, allowing it to present a consistent and recognizable identity in multiple sizes.

I designed a badge logo and let the mascot icon speak for itself in spaces where the brand has already been established.
