Griffith Robert “Griff” Littlehale is a skilled artist who participates in creating various artworks for his community. Based in Toledo, Ohio, Griffith Littlehale has designed numerous logos as well as produced both Christmas and Thanksgiving cards for a local church. Griffith Littlehale has an interest in philosophy, and Socrates is one of his favorite philosophers.

Socrates was one of the most popular Western philosophers, and is still admired for his intellect, wisdom, and perception about society. Born in Athens, his father Sophroniscus was a stonemason, and mother, Phaenarete, was a midwife. Socrates was known for his teaching style, which came to be known as the Socratic Method, where he used public dialogue to get those involved in a conversation to reflect on their own views. In fact, Socrates rarely proposed his own views and insisted he didn’t teach anyone, but instead focused on analyzing and clarifying various concepts of a discussion to trigger new ideas.

Plato, one of his admirers, students, and followers, wrote extensively about how Socrates helped him and others arrive at their own understanding of issues. Socrates also relied on faith as a major motivation during his public dialogues, and believed every concept analyzed inspired a positive result. Over time he began to question the political system in which he lived, which put him on a collision path with the authorities. He was accused of using his ideas to misguide the youth of Athens and was sentenced to death through drinking poison.
