Superficie Textil
El proyecto parte de un interés personal por los manglares desde su morfología, sus raíces ancladas, y su estructura inmóvil, fija y quieta. Sus raíces parecen interminables y estáticas, escondidas y descubiertas, es un mundo “mágico” que alberga una gran cantidad de organismos que se apoyan en su supervivencia.
El mangle es un árbol muy particular, ya que debido a las circunstancias del ecosistema en el que vive, posee una morfología única que va desde el nivel celular hasta la estructura misma del árbol (las raíces), la cual no tiene un orden especifico si no que, debido a las condiciones del ambiente, como la salinidad del agua, la marea y el suelo crea esta estructura aleatoria.
El mangle es un arreglo material creado a partir de una serie de circunstancias que se convierte en el soporte de su ecosistema y la “madre” de todos de los seres que lo habitan. Así, se entiende al Manglar como un tejido que contiene una relación entre estructura, movimiento, y material generando una superficie.
Esta superficie textil se inspira en la estructura celular del mangle, donde a través de la materialidad se busca sensación de movimiento y entender como su estructura se compone de un “gran tejido” siendo la base de su ecosistema.
The project starts from a personal interest in mangroves from their morphology, their anchored roots, and their immobile, fixed and still structure. Its roots seem endless and static, hidden and uncovered, it is a "magical" world that houses a large number of organisms who depend on it to survive.
The mangrove is a very particular tree, since due to the circumstances of the ecosystem in which it lives, it has a unique morphology that goes from the cellular level to the structure of the tree itself (the roots), which does not have specific order, due to environmental conditions, such as the salinity of the water, the tide and the soil creates this random structure.
The mangrove is a material arrangement created from a series of circumstances that becomes the support of its ecosystem and the "mother" of all the beings that inhabit it. Thus, the Mangrove is understood as a fabric that contains a relationship between structure, movement, and material generating a surface.
