The World of Donkmaster
I went under the wings of Sage, aka Donkmaster, for an ongoing personal documentary highlighting a niche car culture unique to the Southeast USA. To race DONKs you need 26”+ wheels, 800+ horsepower, a finesse with the feet, and a box-style American classic car... the most popular being a 70’s Chevrolet Caprice. On any given night, huge stacks are bet by a small circle of big players. The largest pot I saw was $82,000 for one race... not including side bets. From 2017 to 2020, from street to dragstrip, from South Carolina to Orlando, I saw a small part of their world.
