A selection of very quick illustrations for an inclusive UX designer. The project only took 2 days and I would like to, have given more time increase the quality and take some more time on them but feel they worked well in the experiment we were exploring. We were trying to find another avenue for visually representing disability that diverted from the more classic symbols.
I feel passionately about disability rights and representation, and wanted to create some images that included distinct characters with disabilities. I feel it’s important to depict people with disabilities rather than disabilities alone. I also included the rainbow colours in these illustrations to represent disability pride. The following illustrations depict people with sight and hearing disabilities, on the autistic spectrum, people with prosthetics, with temporary disabilities, dyslexia, mental health issues with agrophobia as a it’s own illustration and lastly people with degenerative conditions, eg ALS or motor neuron disease.
