Art Movement Task
Hello again, for today we were assign to do a task that relates to an art movement and the requirements are that we need to choose a product locally or not but it must be within Brunei. After we choose one, we need to make a poster with the product we chose by implementing any styles of art movement.
Therefore I chose Outrun, Cyberpunk and Vaporwave and implement it into one poster. I choose all three of those is because all three of them have the same concept like retro, futuristic, neon color, new world theme and culture wave.
As I research more into it, it is the theme and art movement that I lean more into.
The first Picture on the left is my final product and the other two pictures are the concept and color that I follow. Always like the color and neon vibe to that specific style.
" There are many artistic styles and genres not recognized by the official art world. In some cases, the artists of a certain genre struggle for acknowledgement. Their works might be technically excellent but for one reason or another they don’t get the attention they deserve. Meanwhile others do not wish to be acknowledged. They have a more specific target audience and they communicate only with it. Steampunk, Dieselpunk, and Cyberpunk are three examples of this. The -punk suffix has to do with their aim to highlight the countercultural nature and the opposition to “high brow” art. However this is their only connection to the broader punk subculture. Although, as we will see further on, there are some truly punk elements within them. So, without further ado, let’s look at some punk in art! "
Behind the scenes of the poster
Firstly, this cyberpunk, outrun, vaporwave art, I design it using Adobe Photoshop with RGB setting. Then I did some sketch and outline from a Walkman picture. Redesign the Walkman a bit with earpiece instead of headphones/headset make like the cassette being insert into the Walkman.
Then I use this picture as reference, by using the outline for the design.
Then this picture is the concept for my color scheme.
For the grids, I use it as a texture for the background, to give the technology advancement vibe but also get the idea for the outrun art style.

P.S: Some did say my color concept is like the Progressif Company and yea, I just realize that, hahaha.
But hey, color concept of Cyberpunk is always like this.
