CUT-OUT | craft & design magazine
This is the project I completed for my Typography class. The assignment was to create a magazine about craft and design issues. I decided to focus on paper arts and the magazine features six artists from around the world. The back pages are arranged as a map with cut out elements such as Eiffel Tower, State of Liberty, etc. to indicate the locations and where different artists come from. On the front side mini articles include information about the artists I found on their websites and images of their works. I wanted to keep the magazine very simple and minimal. I printed it on newsprint and once it is opened it looks like a newspaper. The hard cover included a small cut out element of a globe that twist around on a thread like one of the magician toys from the Victorian era. I sewed together all pages to give the magazine a crafty look.
