Edward Lear (1812-1888), an English artist, most famous for his literary nonsense in poetry and prose and especially his limericks. Here is one of them - animated. Translated in Russian by Boris Arkhiptsev.

"Old Man of Leghorn"
There was an Old Man of Leghorn.
The smallest that ever was born;
But quickly snapped up he
Was once by a Puppy,
Who devoured that Old Man of Leghorn.
Был один старичок из Ливорно,
Самый крошечный в мире, бесспорно;
Но какой-то щенок
Раз его подстерёг
                И сожрал старичка из Ливорно.
