The Sea, Emotion Incarnate

“the sea is emotion incarnate. it loves, hates, and weeps. it defies all attempts to capture it with words and rejects all shackles. no matter what you say about it, there is always that which you can't. my interaction with it, is helping me write some music”
- Aaron replied, when asked, why was it, that he found himself on a sultry Tuesday afternoon, with his guitar,
on this mucky shoreline.
had to wait for a while, to find this man isolated, only in company with the winds and sand, my primal subject, with the sonorous sea in the background. he saw me lurking around him and very sheepishly inquired if i was photographing him, and upon my affirmative nod, asked me if he could look at the photos.
sat next to him, pulled up my camera roll and scrolled through - I could see a growing smile on his face. he offered me a cigarette, I gently declined.
he lit it, stuck between his lips, handed me the lighter and played me this beautiful piece, fingerstyle, very minor-ish feel.

this time, he saw a growing smile on my face.
we shared this space for another 10 minutes or so, I had to then leave, to run to catch my bus. we shook hands,
exchanged names, he managed to pronounce my name almost close to correct.
I started walking back, turned, one last time - bid another silent goodbye.
his motif's melody still rings between my ears, it's been a while now.

a rather short, scenic & grounding encounter, I shall forever cherish.
