For thousands of years people have been living at and literally on Inle Lake. This 22 km long and picturesque lake in the north of Burma (Myanmar) has a population of some 150,000, many of whom live in houses on stilts on the lake. They even have floating islands where they grow there vegetables and of course fishing is a main food source. So the lake provides everything they need. Inle Lake, natural and unpolluted, is famous for its scenic beauty and the unique leg-rowing of the Inthas, the native lake dwellers.
