WEEK 4 + 5
I'm not gonna lie, over the last two weeks I have been focused on other projects, I did however, sketch out all the character assets for the HumourMe posters. Through this process I researched new digital artists to assist me in drawing up different poses and positions for the characters.

The sketches of my characters are below:
Figure 1: Lo-Fi Sketches
My issue with the sketches is the facial expressions, I can get help with the bodies, however the facial features are all my own. And because of this I think they can look a little strange sometimes. Even though I feel more comfortable with female characters, I can't help but think I need to illustrate more male characters to create more familiarity with everyone not just females. My task over the weekend is to turn these sketches into hi-fi prototypes to present on Tuesday.

After completing the layout designs a couple weeks ago, I have since thought of an idea that could make the images more interesting and integrate the words into the image setting. Instead of having the statement sprawled across the bottom of the image, perhaps I could incorporate it into the backgrounds of the image and make the statements of the image the characters and knot not the words. For example, I experimented with placing it on a poster in the background behind the characters (Figure 2).

Next thing I did was research how I could display and print out my designs in a way that is more exciting than just A1 posters. After doing some research I came up with the idea that I could turn my designs and Knot character in to a brand that people know and that can increase knowledge of anxiety further. Figure 3 shows an example of what I have found quite interesting. How could I create this physical assets? Easy enough that I can print out a book sleeve or a notebook cover. As I am targeting emerging adults, I know from observation that tote bags are very popular with this age group, how can I print on a canvas bag? Could I get it professionally done with a company or is it something I could make myself with a screen print method potentially?

Figure 3: Examples of branding
After this discovery I began trying to create my own designs, this process was fun and interesting. The following images are examples of quick mockups of the knot characters on different products, including tote bags and notebooks (figure 4). The next step for these is sketching up ideas on what else can be on these things to add depth and intrigue.
