The Silhouette Daysplitter is the ultimate pair of glasses for
the active user who is always in need of vision correction and who
expects something more from the glasses. The glasses are a 3 in 1 solution that offers
regular vision correction, sun protection and also works as an activity enhancement.

I understood that the target group wanted a timeless design
that would be sustainable over time. The user is not one who is sensitive to rapid changing trends, but instead wants a product that can withstand the test of
time in different ways.

Vision Correction
The thin frame is made by lightweight and strong titanium without any finish to
enhance the function-oriented look. The distinctive bayonet temples and the nose pieces are made
from Natural PX, a material that is 60% bio based. The titanium arms holding the nose pieces are made from a softer compound to enable adaptability. This stage of the glasses is designed to look light and not so visually striking to make them fit in to an everyday context.
Sun protection
At this stage the glasses gets more visually pronounced.
The highly functional clip-on solution adds visual weight, making the glasses more interesting.

The clip-on can easily be removed thanks to a button on the inside of the frames. The component
is well integrated with the rest of the frame, giving the glasses a sense of wholeness and quality.

Activity enhancement
The glasses are now in full effect. They have more visual integrity thanks to added components, accent colors and graphics. The side-protection (made from Natural PX) is a visual extrusion of the frame and in combination with the foam piece gives the glasses a focused look suitable for example running. The rear-strap is made out of a comfortable fabric that should withstand water and dust.
