In this project we were in groups of 3. We had to design an ABC Alphabet Book for adults. We needed to create a book which would appeal to the older generation, and make them want to buy or read it. 

 

We decided to create an ABC book of Cocktails. Alcohol appeals to the adult generation and therefore creating a cocktail recipe book would appeal especially to the female adult generation.

We created the cocktails using ingredients which would represent and immitate the cocktails. We then photographed them and sketched over the images on illustrator for the book. Here are some examples of the images. We had a different cocktail for every letter of the alphabet.

The cocktail book we created had one image on the righthand side of the double page spread, with the illustration over the top and the recipe typed in a caligraphy style font underneath. On the lefthand side of the double page spread was the letter and the name of the cocktail on a bright coloured background picked out from the cocktail, with the recipe written along the background in a paler colour. 

 

We had the book bound together with wire binding and printed at a size of 10cm x10cm making it a small pocket sized book.
