Sloss Furnaces invitation | event brochure | branding
Sloss Furnaces played a huge role in our nation’s industrial revolution and as a result, Birmingham has been recognized around the world. They partnered with the City of Birmingham to launch a fundraising campaign for a new National Historical Museum, for which I designed an invitation. I also created wedding brochures for their event coordination services and a new brand logo. The vision behind the logo was to convey a sense of strength, history and foundation with the actual furnace incorporated as an icon. Oftentimes when you see Sloss, you see the tanks, but not the furnace, so this was the perfect opportunity to re-brand. The colors chosen were earthy browns and blacks seen throughout Sloss Furnace’s facility.
A second mark was also developed for Sloss's Museum & Visitor Center as well as the Foundation.
