MIND THE GAP (an ongoing work in progress.)

I started a project about communicating creative consulting concepts.
informally dubbed "Mind the Gap" and fell upon the notion that I should create some very quick and simple visual communication tools to go a long with the the talks and maybe to capture the process here. I will likely be editing this entry to include more and more of those pieces as they are created. I'll also include process and notes to show the evolution of those graphics. Please let me know what you think!
It all started with a conversation attempting to explain in a 101 fashion the conflicts between creative process needs  and financial sector perceptions on the value of art as it pertains to applied arts and IP . The result was a scrap paper Venn Diagram that expressed the need to create a forum for discussion regard this topic. And "Mind the Gap" was born!
As a synesthetic I often precieve things and relationships in a A-linear way to other people even other creatives. I often speak to the left/right brain conversation and this was an attempt to speak to that idea and the Mind Gap.  Variations on a theme we have used realistic renderings and more abstract renderings to represent the two sides and their opposition in animation and slide art relating the differences in other visual ways

"synesthetic perceptions"
Synesthesia has been a great communication tool in speaking with others because I can relate terms of associative ideas and relationships in ways that are both powerful and instinctual for many on both sides of the divide so it makes for a great talking point. I have created several pieces as collaterals.
Often the relationship between short term gain and long term value is a speaking point and one of the ways we reduce this to a visual talking point is through the use of simple vector dots. to many it is easy to digest but to other it is understood that this is a building block of a matrix and the way vertex structure begins to form in 3d graphics so its been a wonderful tool when speaking to short term/long term concepts and left brain right brain ideas. Sometimes a good idea isn't seen as one on first experience with it, but over time that perception can change and evolve as we revisit the idea. and vice versa.
