Life Story of Flap shell Turtle

Illustration for an information book on Turtles
As a part of my internship at Wildlife Institute of India, I designed a six page fact book for the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG), a project under the government in India to save and clean Ganga. Turtles are a sign of a good ecosystem in any river, they clean up the river by eating away the dead bodies.  Varanasi one of the sites of our project is a place were the river has been extremely polluted due to various human activities such as disposal of industrial waste, sewage disposal and religious rituals . The fact book is an attempt to make people aware of a life story of a turtle which bring in light the important of these being as well as its habitat.
Above: Sketches and Character development for the turtles story, done in water color on paper.  Below: A series of illustrations for the final book; Digital illustrations.
The fact book was handed over to school children near one of the ghats in Varanasi, during a turtle rescue event.
