Technical director leading a team responsible for the design, creation and logistics of all set and props. Working collaboratively with the production designer and supporting external tech team with lighting rig. (2020).
This role required me to combine and develop a range of personal and technical skills including team building and motivation, leadership and management, coordination, communication, detailed organisation as well as working to strict, time, resource and budget constraints.
It included: team selection, organisation of backstage sessions and materials acquisition, overseeing design, build and show night logistics, advising on set and prop build processes.
Props
The original lamp shade broke during the final dress run. There was less then a day before opening night so there was no time to buy another. I quickly designed and 3D printed a former over night. Then vacuum formed and sprayed the next day just in time for the show.
