The Mediterranean route, undertaken every year by tens of thousands of women, men and children seeking safety aboard dilapidated boats, has become increasingly dangerous. Migrants undertake risky journeys from North Africa to try to cross the Mediterranean and reach Europe. People fleeing wars, persecutions and famines who attempt to cross the sea are increasingly at risk of death.
The idea of the project was to carry out a social critique for information purposes, as in our society we do not talk enough about the reasons why thousands of people decide to embark on this journey of hope, risking their lives.
The work experiments with the use of typography with impactful images characterized mainly by the looks and expressions of migrants who have experienced this scenario firsthand.
The idea was precisely to convey through the printing press the feelings and thoughts of migrants who are forced to flee their country of origin due to political conflicts, human rights violations, economic crises and climate change.
This work will be a way of giving voice to their hard history and their neglected rights.
