“At Your Best” is a collection of paintings that revere honesty in expression. These realistic paintings reveal the raw character of individuals without pretense, in unguarded sincerity. Such moments are elusive, urging me to expound upon them; perhaps to glorify them. Beginning with snapshot images, I alter the context of the moment to bring it into the present. My grand scale and extensive detail give the paintings a presence that can be felt. The fleeting moment becomes a persevering statement, and begins a life of its own. It is my belief that this human quality allows for the viewer to create a relationship with the artwork.
