In Shadow: Visualisation of Aphex Twin's 'Kladfvgbung Mischk'
This piece is a visualisation of a song; Kladfvbung Mischk by Aphex Twin on his 2001 album 'DrukQs'. A song without lyrics but with a strong sense of unease created through its understated dynamics, faster than heartbeat tempo, and tritone discordance. Its instruments and rhythms reminded me of a Gamelan orchestra, hence the beach setting. The pointedly wooden and metallic sounds in the song also no doubt had influence on specific elements in the final composition.
