For our First Year Graphic Design project, we were tasked with creating a city poster based on the style of a famous designer. The city and the Designer were randomly pulled from a hat. I drew the city of Budapest and the Italian Design Massimo Vignelli.

 

My final design takes inspiration from the Five Phrases by Vignelli, The New York Subway maps he designed and a subway map of Budapest.

 

The River Danube splits the City with the more historic side of Buda and the cultural side of Pest. The typography showcases these two sides coming together as one.
