ABOUT & AIM
In 3rd Semester Studio, we have to design a WOOD CARVING STUDIO for all age groups. In this, they will learn the Basic Technique and Use of Tools to make Wood Carving and also develop Statuette. The two main attributes are having sufficient amount of Natural Light inside the building, and there should be a connection between the Site and the User as they not only restrict to the building but also work outdoor in Natural Environment where they can feel Unbound and take out their Inner Ingenuity.
The site is located in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. It faces the road and nearby there is State Museum.
Its the viewpoint which allows the viewer to enjoy and take advantage of the levelled site, its vegetation, mountains and sun. Carving Studio helps the user to work indoor as well as outdoor without any restrictions.
There are three major building units divided inside the sloped site, & at top-level parking has been provided which also gives the user visually connected to building units and gives the best fascinating sight of mountains and sun. The slope of the roof leaned towards the entry of each block. At the side of unit height, green spaces prepared, which are visually visible from inside the units. The orientation of the building kept in the direction of the slope of the site. Wide Staircase has been provided for the user so they can relish the site views.
