MEREL BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT
I created this illustration for a friend of mine as a birth announcement card/print for the birth of his daughter Merel. Merel is the Flemish translation of "blackbird", that's why the concept combines both the blackbird and little girl. For the colors, I decided to go for orange as opposed to the usual pink as I found it suited the illustration more and the planned date of birth was also in Fall.
