Significant symbolic value in connection with the 12 months of the year, the 12 zodiac signs, the 12 tribes of Israel and - as a parallel to this - Jesus' 12 disciples. 12 is perceived as the whole, a whole, a harmony, eg to be 12 at the table, to have frames and cutlery for 12. But the “twelfth man” can be demonized, i.a. because the traitor Judas belonged to the 12, a motif played
