Fun with our flat land

This collection of pieces was more of a spur-of-the-moment project that I thought of when I noticed a friend taking a picture recently. The picture she had taken was of a landscape and took on a very geometric look overall. There was a section of sand, water and lastly the sky. What attracted me to the picture was that my eyes viewed each section as more of a block of colour as opposed to noticing the smaller details in the picture.

I've had a fascination with geometric art and landscape photography for a while now, so I thought I'd take photos of my own and create some very simplistic artwork that I could hang on my wall one day. The horizontal lines also play off of the fact that I live in the oh-so-flat prairie region. I figured that this could be an opportunity to spice up these flat lands a little.

Enjoy!
