About the Site: Higher education has been one of the major problems throughout the history of Al Zaafarana. The system there is extremely underfunded and left over due to many factors; the cultural perspective of teaching females, and letting males out of schools after primary level, and the poor economic base of Al Zaafarana, which was the main reason behind letting the majority of males’ youth out of schools in order to work and therefore provide their families with goods. On the other hand, the same situation that was confronting males’ education, was the golden card for females, it allowed them to learn, even outside of Al Zaafarana city. This contradiction in the families there was extremely unusual. Their pride toward the educated females’ vs their unacceptance of males’ education left us questioning ourselves.
Al-Zaafarana area, one of Ras Ghareb cities; belonging to the Red Sea governorate, is considered one of the most important attractions located on the Cairo-Hurghada road, characterized by the presence of multiple resources that makes it well-suited for vitalizing the whole red sea area and as a magnet to the urban sprawl towards the region. And consequently, Al-zaafarana is considered to be the labour platform of ras ghareb’s citizens, Therefore, this city could represent a high potential to accommodate a technical faculty that could act as a catalyst for economic growth of the area. This is why the higher education system is in dire need of increase in size to provide graduates who qualify to meet the market needs of the area.
Accordingly, the aim of this research project is to establish a Technical Faculty in Al-Zaafarana city based on three main pillars; learning, testing, and producing to enhance the quality of graduates, and workers who work in the three main fields, which are; oil extraction, mining, and logistics. And which are also the three economic base activities located in this zone
The faculty will incorporate two main departments; Oil extraction department, and Mining department. which will be the main connector between the two departments mentioned above. This program is not actually existing in Egypt; therefore, the typology will be introducing this kind of field in the Egyptian higher education system. The faculty will be a five years faculty which aims to provide the highest outcome to males and females of Al Zaafarana to help them affect their home areas efficiently The faculty will offer a direct relation with the job market either locally, or internationally through working with industries at Al Zaafarana zone to provide a state of academic experience that will exceed the students, and the faculty’s expectation
