British Crusader Mk. II
1/48 Tamiya British Crusader tank Mk. II
Time for a tank. I usually don't build these things, but I'm getting more and more interested in other subjects other than warplanes. I was looking for something simple to do after I finished my Land Rover and found this Crusader tank I had bought during my trip in London and got a discount at the toy store where I found it because the box was a bit damaged... Upon arriving in the hotel I discovered that the instruction leaflet was missing and instead got two times the decal set. Now I'd rather have it that way because finding the leaflet was easy, the other way around is another story...

The kit itself was a mere dream to build as one could expect from the newer Tamiya kits. I decided to make a Desert version of the Northern Africa desert campaign,
I wanted it to be a camouflaged version as I had some photos of camouflaged desert crusaders and these all showed a lot of signs of 'weathering'.
I wanted to do the hairspray technique for a long time now and decided to try it with this new project, and I'm pretty satisfied with the result. I used some Nato brown as the base color and then some Nato black was aded on top of the hairspray and heavily brushed of with different tools and water. Some bags and ammo boxes were added for some added realism as lot's of soldiers kept their stuff outside the tank as there wasn't always enough room inside.
