Preston Speedway is the regeneration of a disused taxi rank adjacent to iconic Preston Bus Station, Lancashire.

The rank's shape and size lends itself perfectly to that of a regulation Cycle Speedway track with a track width of 5.3m and a total inner perimeter of 87.4m.

The 888m2 intervention within the city will utilise the existing shelter for the bike workshop and public viewing platform above.

Vertical timber panels surround the bike workshop, creating a secure enclosure for when the track is not in use.

The central red tower will act as a beacon and also a watering point for the contestants.

By simply covering the existing surface with the appropriate base layer of hardcore and a top layer of dust graded shale, a new Cycle Speedway hub is created giving a dilapidated part of town a new lease of life.
