This is a short series of illustrations I did that came out of me discovering the Afrofuturism art movement that highlighted the genius of black people in the literary and visual arts. As a geeky brown womxn I wanted to use comics, music and anime to display my way of honoring the things and people who inspire me to create sci-fi abstractions. The intricate linework is also a way for me to explain how complex the human imagination is, and that we are descendents of great thinkers who compell us to continue to take risks in the arts and sciences.
