StubHub is an online ticketing site where users can sell/buy tickets to events such as, music concerts, sporting events, theater events, festivals, etc.
The team consisted of two designers, an engineer, and manager. We were tasked to generate and improve the venue map user experience on the global StubHub websites by creating interactive maps for accurate seating views. The map designers were given static seating map images for reference to build out interactive map. Proprietary software was created to output deliverables that generated interactive sections. As one clicks on the map, users will get accurate view of what users will expect when purchasing. This interaction was innovative during its time since seating charts did not display views from seat section. Previously, users would have to scroll through lists of seats available without really knowing what to expect for seat views.
My personal knowledge of sports and music was helpful to understand, visualize and create the production of seating maps. Along with international team that were responsible for bulk of 3D assets, we were able to increase our numbers of maps to record breaking levels. A tracking system was used to track builds and visual QA was used to confirm assets functioned as intended. Below are a few samples of maps that I've created in 2D and 3D.
