Visual Identity – EPHEMA

EPHEMERAL

New visual identity for the Danish choreography and dance institution Dansehallerne. In recent years Dansehallerne has undergone a major transformation and the design challenge was to take the institution to the next level – not only as an important dance and choreography leader on the Danish market, but in Europe as well.

Dance is only present in the moment and unlike other contemporary art forms, dance can't be hung on a wall or archived in the basement for later. Our concept is built around the very idea of dance being an ephemeral art form. Ephemeral originates from the Greek word ephemeros and means something lasting a short time only.

The old name Dansehallerne was originally founded in the old buildings, where the institution once had its base. But since that is no longer the case and the word doesn't really translate well to English, we decided to rename it to Ephema.

The new identity is dynamic, powerful and adaptable to all types of dance, choreography and stage art. It frames the art nicely, while remaining playful and most importantly always recognisable.
