This is an fan illustration I made earlier this year of the Sorceress (Teela Na) from He-Man Masters Of The Universe. It was created primarily in vector, with a final colour correction in PS. I designed it to be printed onto metal, and hang on my wall.
A wireframe (or skeleton preview) of the vector art. The character was composed of approximately 13000+ individually drawn shapes without auto blends or lighting maps. Since no brushes are used, it is essentially an 'illustrated painting'.
A shot of the actual print. It was done on a 16" x 24" (1mm thick), waterproof and fade resistant sheet of aluminum. I chose to go with a satin finish, as opposed to glossy since I felt the matte surface seemed to exude a quality similar to 'Photanium'.
I designed a matching cleaning cloth to go along with my metal print to keep it free of dust and fingerprints. It's not an official product obviously, but the logos were added and redrawn in vector to give it a retro feel. Sadly the result came out unclear.
