— Poster design for a series of events is a royal challenge. The challenge: to design a series of six posters related to indie music. When expressing experimentalism the design process must be a very accurate hybrid beteewn feelings and artistic expression while remaining strong within the guidelines of identity systems. To face the challenge of supporting a series of indie concerts that hold from experimental house to chillout, travelling through hard rock, pop tendencies, tropical and classic rock, hiphop some in English and other in Portuguese, we built a support system that would hold these ideas in the same guidelines - an impossible star that would collapse into customizable shapes made into a vortex with the same number of points as the number of events in the series. An iconic and simple relationship that would be appropriate to accomodate as many languages as needed to portray the feel and attitude of the bands in display on the proper date. The resut: an explosive series in which emotions clash and collapse to ultimately identify each date in the proper form without losing it's reference and shapeshifting its looks — such a wonderful joy to experiment freely! These posters were developed over the course of half a year, mainly thought for digital promotion in which an appropriate number of collateral was developed for each one - Facebook promotion, Tumblr gifs, web items, and the obvious need for tickets which would at first serve as both a printed object and a web item that would be released days after the official poster to work as a reminder for the event. _ We let the experimental feeling flow as much as an improv session on stage, a risk took with caution and a tremendous amount of guts. Poster design for a series of events is a royal challenge.
The challenge: to design a series of six posters related to indie music.
When expressing experimentalism the design process must be a very
accurate
hybrid between feelings and artistic expression while remaining strong within the guidelines of identity systems.
To face the challenge of supporting a series of indie concerts that hold from experimental house to
chillout, travelling through hard rock, pop tendencies, hiphop, tropical and classic rock some in English and other in Portuguese, we built a support system that would hold these ideas in the same guidelines - an impossible star that would collapse into customizable shapes made into a vortex with the same number of points as the number of events in the series. An iconic and simple relationship that would be appropriate to accommodate as many languages as needed to portray the feel and attitude of the bands in display on the proper date.

The result: an explosive series in which emotions clash and collapse to ultimately identify each date in the proper form without losing it's reference and shapeshifting its looks — such a wonderful joy to experiment freely!
These posters were developed over the course of half a year, mainly thought for digital promotion in
which
an appropriate number of collateral was developed for each one - Facebook promotion, Tumblr gifs, web items and the obvious need for tickets which would at first serve as both a printed object and a web item that would be released days after the official poster to work as a reminder for the event.

We let the experimental feeling flow as much as an improv session on stage, a risk took with caution and a tremendous amount of guts.
A Royal after-dinner poster for a wonderful evening well spent with
Revolve and the wonderful Indiesciplinas concert series.
