MANE
The Objective: Developed for the MGD421 Technical Entrepreneurship course in 4th year at the University of Toronto, this prototype was created for a 3-min Investor's Pitch. The pitch was presented on Zoom (due to COVID-19) and a visual of the application was displayed to provide an example of its user experience.

The Venture: MANE is a hair application that completely revolutionizes the grooming process and experience! It helps users decide on their haircut, colour, or style with its virtual hair filters and then assists them in finding the perfect stylist or salon for their needs based on reviews, ratings and recommendations. MANE includes in-app purchasing, so users can shop for hair care products and styling tools on the application itself.
The Challenge: Establishing the information architecture, to ensure ease of use, was the most challenging part of this development.

The Solution: Two personas were created for research and various scenario tests were conducted on teammates, classmates, friends, and family members. This helped identify the hierarchy of information that needed to be immediately visible upon log-in vs hidden under the menu or in sub-categories. The application had three main actions - try, search, and buy. It was decided that if a user did not require these main services upon log-in, they would find additional information (such as accounts, settings, privacy, etc) under the menu bar.
