This is my contribution to Hero Complex Gallery's Bleeding Metallics exhibition. This piece is inspired by the Halo 4 video game. It's a rendition of the Master Chief (John 117), floating among space debris with the planet Requiem in the background, after having just successfully triumphed over the Didact.
I chose to portray Chief in this manner, because of the concept of his martyr-like victory. It's a different way of portraying the self-sacrifice, the toughness, and the emotion of seen Chief's latest mission.
Also, Halo references several religious texts, including the Bible. Some might say that the Chief's name is an allusion to the following biblical passage.
