This was a painting that I made in 2008. It was part of a series of paintings that I was doing at the time, but this might be my favorite one of them all. This painting in particular also showcases my illustration skills.

I used mainly acrylic paint and black gesso, with pencil, spray paint and also transfer paper, which created the white effect. I was pretty pleased with the results, and I actually sold this piece as well.

The idea behind this was circling around a lot of different things, such as voids, death and decay, ephemerality, liminality, and Zizek's idea of the parallax gap. I was reading a lot at that time...
