sound installation

// Arduino, solenoid, wood, aluminium

An abstract sound installation exploring the phenomenon of natural disasters and in particular volcanic eruptions. Through overwhelming, changing soundscape work portrays all the stages beginning with a mild earthquake and finishing on ash and lava pyroclastic eruptions. Fluctuating frequency of the motor derives from the data on volcanic activity of Vesuvius and its eruption in 79 AD. Motors create sound effects resulting in an evocative experience.
